It seems every week John Agnew (BC PM) is in a break, usually of his own making but then it gets pulled back until this week when, with Rob Pye (Vanillabikes.com) for company, John stayed away with a superb effort to hold off a large chasing bunch. Behind Luke Perkin (Project De-watering) won the sprint from Ian Rutherford (Lune RCC). In the race for best female finisher Eve Dixon (Maxgear) was just ahead of Jess Atkinson (Team 22), both in the midst of the large bunch.

A break of 6 formed, all different teams, but with no Biketreks present it was down to that team to chase. This split the bunch and a new lead group of 9 formed. Into the last lap Tim Lawson (Wheelbase) attacked alone and used his considerable experience to hold off the bunch for a solo win to celebrate his birthday. Team-mate Stuart Reid led in the charge for 2nd. Experience had almost been beaten by youth when Fabian Brennan (Velocity WD40) had made a brave solo effort in the closing laps but it was not to be on this occasion. Also notable was that John Agnew (BC PM) after winning the earlier 3/4 race, finished the E/1/2 race also.
Thanks to Vanillabikes.com for sponsorship, Tony Sweeney and Geoff Newcombe for Commisairing, Dennis for manning the lap board, bell and flags and Kay Atkinson for running the sign-on and result desk.
